A nice sized North West swell filled in Tuesday(Feb 9th) and I got the call early that Peahi was working. I had been thwarted (nickwarmuth.blogspot.com/2009/11/thwarted.html) a few times before, but I had a feeling that today was the day. The wind was strong and had a very offshore direction too it, I took out my 4.7 Superfreak ME edition and my OES Quad 72. The quad 72 handled really well in the double mast high sets. I moved the back fins to the back of the box and added a little extra distance between the front and back fins. It wasn't the cleanest day at Peahi, there were bumps the size of Volkswagen at the bottom of some of the waves. I was a little nervous setting the bottom turn with the four fins, but wave after wave, the harder I pushed the more the board drove. Since it was my first time out there I took it easy, and watched the pros(Levi Siver, Robby Swift) rip it, and I'll be ready for next time. Check out the videos/shots at Jimmie Hepp's facebook page.

I don't think this is the board maker who sailed Jaws. Its another one of those cut and paste emails they use for their blatant advertising that we occasionally have to endure.

At least they're open about it the posting name does suggest its from a company - unlike others that post as independants and pimp there sponsors gear and videos- and there's a few from WA that are prime examples as well

The amount of people who post in the gear review section of this forum about the same products. Feel free to check the entire page and find the definate trends there with brands and user names.

Find it a bit hard to understand the red thumbs at an aussie guy posting info about an aussie shaped and designed product working in one of the most recognisable big wave sailing locations in the world.
Where is the patriotism in that.

With all the major brands producing sweat shop manufactured boards/ sails in third world countries it is refreshing to have a board manufacturer produce a high quality product at comparable prices to suit real world & elite conditions and be AUSTRALIAN.
Give the guy a fair go......

Anyway rant over.
