I'm looking at purchasing my 1st wave sail and wondering what is the most commonly used size? Sailing on the Gold coast & sunny coast.
I weigh 80kg and board is 100L, venturing out from 16 to 25 knots!
Any help & advice would be very much appreciated

IMO Something around the 5.3m mark would probably be a good allround size for someone of your weight for a wave sail.

5.5-5.7m, basically the biggest thing you can fit on a 400rdm mast would be a good start. Then get a 5.0 later, and you should be covered for that stated wind range.

Their 'power' wavesails aren't they? You might get away with a size smaller I.e 5.3 as your biggest then..

Go and see Michael and Ian at Surf Fx on the Goldy, they have 30 years experience each and will put you on the right track. From what your telling us the 5.5-5.7 range would be a good first choice then a 5.0/4.8 as a 2nd sail.

Great advice guys, thanks i'm going for a 5.7 and a 4.8 to 5m
Should be out their in the next few weeks, stackin & tackin....lol. I'm shore i will only last 30 min in the surf as the only time i've ventured out their previously i was knackered as it was demanding on my body in marginal winds......
