Hi everyone, am just getting back into sailing after a long break and although I grew up mainly sailing flatwater I just bought a second hand JP freestyle wave and am keen to learn wave sailing and getting some air. So I have a couple of questions -
1. Good Sydney or central coast location to learn wave sailing/jumping ?
2. Any tips on body posture or rig control when jumping ?

Sounds like you have a good board to begin in the waves.

I would recommend check the 'spot guide' on the NSW wavesailing website (nswwavesailing.org).

Until say Sept/Oct the wind (in NSW) is not very regular with the exception of some big winter southerlies which can somtimes blow for 2-3 days.
Depending on where you can readily access I would suggest Botany Bay to get familiar with the board before facing surf sailing.

Pittwater in Sydney also good option or Central Coast on the lakes.

Using a North Sails Warp Speed sail in your avatar, late 80's vintage, 7.2?
The next thing you'll need is a newer photo, but that was a classic sail, had one myself,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, in the late 80's.
Just one tip on jumping, don't flat land the board, tail first landings while learning, nose first once proficient.

Haha my pic is holding me back is it... That's a classic before the wind blew all my hair away. And yes it was a 7.2 but a NP World Cup Race. That was a massive sail then and now I come back and their riding even bigger ones. Thanks for the tip on landings and yes I think I will try my board out on flat water before heading for the waves.
