The south swell is brewing in the Southern ocean and looks like there will be some waves. Wind looks like we may be early at Windang. Don't write off a seabreeze Sunday - all it needs is a clear sunny day and its on!

Keep watching - I will post up Rego location Thursday night or Friday am.

Joel, yes it takes 9 hours from Melbourne (that includes stopping a couple of times for fuel and lunch stop near Gundagai. Go straight up the hume 110km/h nearly all the way, I go thru Kiama, then 10 mins south from there. Was up there a few weeks ago and scored some great NE days.

While it's a bit early to call it wouldn't keep my hopes up for the weekend. There will be plenty of waves around for a good surf but the Southerly from Friday should have puffed itself out by Saturday morning.

There could be enough wind in Sunday to get out on big sails / boards for a few fun rides but again don't hold your hopes up. As for Friday, there should be plenty of run to be had around Windang and North Gong. My advise though is get out early if you can.

Then again... a lot can change in 5 days... after having lived here for the past 4 months I wouldn't trust a report more than 3 days out. Even then a Nor'Easter or Southerly can be stronger than the forecast says.

no worries... I just pressed the shutter release at the right time. Anyone can do that. Credit goes to Dan for pulling off that move with a 4.8 in what must have been 5 knts.

Must be his new JP board and Neil Pryde The Fly 2 sails.

Cool thanks.. at this stage the forecast isn't looking like it's worth the extra drive.. might just go straight to Merimbula and start knocking back some Coronas!!

Yeah it looks sick... It looks and sounds a lot like Sandy Pt down here in Vic.. when we get a SE and some swell Sandy pt is so fun and forgiving. some of the best wavesailing I have ever done to be honest!

Good evening competitors!
It's looking more promising now especially Sunday. We may need to make an early attempt at Windang on Satuday so the usual request to register early - preparation for judging takes time and so try to avoid turning up at the last minute. I will confer with the judges as to the registration location and post Thursday night/Friday morning.

We should have some more goodies have been thrown in by the sponsors and there will be a very nice board bag up for raffle on the Saturday night. We have some hoodies for sale and if you haven't got your tshirt yet please tell us. Non Members will be $50 and event only members entry $30. New players always welcome.

Gear wise - be prepared and bring everything! We may have sail outside of our comfort zone and make the best of it. At least we don't have to launch over sea urchins like day 2 Cape Verde!

BBQ Saturday probably from about 6:30pm, same place as last time. A few of us will be at the Fisho's Friday night.

Sunday might be good. There is another swell source on both days that we might be lucky enough to catch at Gerroa from a big low a long way away. Sometime these can bring over head high swell even when they are forecasting on 2ft.
Also the winds have the potential if the planets line up for us.

Other modelling indicates the low pressure trough will move further out across the eastern Tasman as the high extends further eastward over this time frame, causing winds to transition from SE early to E/NE during Saturday afternoon.

There’s also a possibility we’ll see low levels of S swell in the mix this weekend, emanating from a deep Southern Ocean low ......
Latest model runs indicate the swell source will remain a little too far west to have any notable impact, setting up a long range pulse of S groundswell peaking at one to two feet across south facing coasts on Saturday and Sunday. This holds some potential to be revised upward so check Friday’s forecast for an update.

Well... there was a swell that came from nowhere today and for some strange reason it was blowing a Nor'Easter with 15 knts from about 3:30pm onwards. Probably the temperature difference between the weather North of Saddleback mountain and the Shoalhaven basin.

Should be the same again tomorrow.

Sign on location NSW WA Event 3 will be Gerroa car park. from 9:00am until 10:30am. Meeting at 10:40am.

I will be organising the heats and seeding at a fairly frantic pace in case it blows so know you division, bring any waivers signed and ready to go and if you need to pay we have the spread sheet to double check. $50 for new members ($20 covers your insurance) or $30 for existing members who have not signed up for the season. Women and youth, groms, juniors who have paid their membership are still free for all remaining events.

We will be using a rolling clock and its up to competitors to check the board and know their heat. If you have a distinctive rash vest such as super hot pink or king of the mountiain polka dot bring it unless you want to be blue, white, or red.

Be prepared to sail outside your comfort zone and as usual if everyone pitches in to make the weekend a success we will have a top time.

BBQ from 6:30-7:00pm at the team house. THanks to North Fanatic through WindsurfnSnow who are supporting us this time. If the conditions are really firing a local pro photographer may be on the scene.

Hi All
Can you donate pre-loved windsurfing Gear for youth windsurfers?
Come on we all have unused kits lying around that is not sellable. This is your chance to donate it to loads of youth getting into our awesome sport this Summer!
As some of you know, we have been running windsurfing lessons for 17 Venturer Scouts on Tuesdays 430-7pm in Sydney. These kids are rapidly advancing and we are keen to keep them enthused and equipped. Therefore, we are asking for you to search under your house or in the shed for any gear that you can donate? We need:
• Boards of any volume 50 to 250 litres!
• Any masts – skinny or wide. Plus odd mast tops/bottoms or snapped masts (we have successfully cut down and cobbled together to make short masts)
• Sails – any sails. We can even cut down the huge triangular sails as beginner sails!
• Bases, extensions, fins – however old and ugly – we’re versatile with this stuff!
• Harnesses etc
Plus if you have a wide style type beginner board that you are willing to loan us for Summer then again we would love to be able to borrow that and you can just call Jason at any time to get it back if you need to use it.
Just bring the gear down to Gerroa event this weekend and Jason will collect it all up and give your gear a second lease of life, injecting new blood into our sport

It was actually a bit strong for Dan on his 4.8, normally has 4.2 on in that strength!
