While everybody has been enjoying summer I've been holding my own Occupy Shed movement..
I had one board almost compete when I blew my knee in early November and was then banned from building boards by my physio as it was causing my knee to inflate.. After a million weeks I was able to spend small stints in the shed before needing to rest.
Here are some photos, hopefully some people get inspired as I was when seeing other people projects..
1st thing I did was get the sh!ts with my current project.. (it had a smal twist)
So I started from scratch..
I use a template for the outline, but the rest is free hand and ad lib.

Shaping the W, all the waveboards have w to u at the nose..
^^Getting ready for the top PVC, I've used 3mm corecell and 3mm Kleegercell. My favorite is Kleegercell
^^Ohh that was easy..
Starting another one.. That's 40 grit sand paper, I swap between that and a belt sander to get the rough shape.. Can't justify buying a planer. I also remember tapes.
Another abortion, this one melted after I applied a sealant on the EPS core and stuck it in my van with the heater on... I was using Kinetix r246 which is the ****test Resin ever, takes days to cure so I tried to accelerate it, but then it melts EPS when hot... West Systems FTW.. (Thanks to Mr Nude for the resin advice, I
wasn't going crazy, Epoxy
can melt EPS)
Started another one after seeing a picture of Jagers double keeled board when it was mentioned on facebook (thanks FunkyJas..)
Supervisor Clyde, 50% of the local Whippet population..
^^Thats the medium wave and the freestyle in primer. Thanks to Funky Jas for giving me the quick rundown on 2k paint.. Those who saw (and loved) last summers board know that I like to brush my paint on.. These ones should be more water tight..
The pads come from NSI, who are total spazzez at charging money to bank accounts.. I had inserted extra padding under the heels of the Chevy and the Australopithecus.
This is the big one, 85ish, 217 long and 58 wide.. I've called 'em KNIGHTMARE because I had to put a company name down when I order something from Shapers.com.au.. Pretty lame haha..
Had to draw the 55 Chevy twice..
This one is about 68L 214 long and 56ish wide.. Has the same outline as the Chevy, just narrower..
This is the SSD inspired board, I was concerned the 68 would be too small and I'd be sinking too much, so I built a medium, it's 214 long, dunno how wide.. Flame job because I was bored of drawing and have always wanted to do flames..
Those who saw (and loved) last summers board know I'd rather just saw the tail off square, this fancy stuff is too much extra effort..
This is the full carbon freestyle board, I was in auto pilot when shaping the blank and I made the tail too narrow, so I had to glue two extra layers of 5mm PVC to the rails to give it some width. It also had too much tail rocker so I glued an extra sheet and reshaped it flat. This added a bit of weight, was supposed to be superlight.. Its also got an asymmetric nose.. Because it can..
This is Harley Quinn, the greatest batman villan from the animated series..
This is the shelf, I tidied up from the last time I posted it. Double compressors in series in case one blows up..
Quick access hammer.
The eagle eyed will notice I they don't have mast tracks or finboxes, They're in there, I'm just saving that for when I can actually sail them.. I think I'm a week away from sailing again, but even then I will only be doing duck gybes. Maybe I can give them a proper workout next summer.
