Thinking of heading there next year for a surf. Has anyone sailed at King Island? How hard is it to get your gear there?

I havent sailed but I have worked down there years ago and it's as windy as buggery. Plenty of wave options and being an island wind from any direction I guess. I do recall the aircraft was tiny, certianly no room for gear, you might have to send it in advance.

i dont think you will get it on a plane, there are freight boats that go from tassie and melbourne i think. i'm keen to check it out one day as its sounds like it has heaps of wavesailing potential
