Whilst enjoying a very fun sail today I've managed to run a ground on the reef. My fins heel has pushed through the bottom of the box exposing what seems to be a cavity.
Im in regional SA so do I need to ship it off for professional repair or is there a quick fix?
My worry is that it has taken in water as I had to sail in 100m. Any advice is appreciated.
BTW already doing groundwork on the miss's for an upgrade but do enjoy the versatility and ride of the old girl, board that is

How far behind the box?
They are in a pretty big divinycell block
If within say 15mm of the rear edge of the box, drill down thru the hole with a little bit, maybe 3 or 4mm in dia, and if you see green foam you're good to go as its closed cell. A smear of a UV set like Solarez would be cool for now.

If any doubt, upside down in sun and see what comes out, but blocking up the vent will help as its automatic. I stick a plastic bolt of same thread into it.

Cheers Mark, yes down to the foam and seems isolated so draining but no sun atm lol.
Not much water intake only a spit or two. I'll source some Solarez, im guessing that sets hard and not just for waterproofing as too much of the bottom is compromised?

Yeah Solarez sets great. (Will feel sticky on top afterwards but that is normal it rubs off well)
Make sure its the epoxy one so u can use it on everything
