If the wind is from the south I'm guessing the tweed river mouth is worth a look.

Snapper would be windsurfable and pretty epic. If it's that windy most of the surfers should clear out. Just make sure you've got a couple life jackets on haha

Seen the Ballina to Byron coast in a cyclone a few years ago. Rain on the first night was insane but the condition when it cleared the next morning were nothing short of epic. Sadly was there for work and had no gear with me.Lennox Head had a wave breaking about 2 km off shore. Not sure if there is a bomby or if it just needed a big swell. Flat Rock was ok too but with 8+ meters of swell this time it's probably too big.

I imagine Snapper might be a little too offshore?

Phone a friend with a jetski, might need that even at Currumbin for wave sailing.
Maybe that won't even hold that level of swell but hope some of you chargers get
out on the water.

Nerdy and I gambled Sawtell Island this arvo _ rain looming and disappearing wind at times , some SERIOUS nugs comin through already - the ones that you pick way out the back and kind of wished you didn't cause the 30+ surfers expect something huge and get disappointed by the 2 poxy turns before the B-line bolt to shore for survival . Lowest tide ever seen also , gonna be interesting these next couple of days

i'd love to see someone try snapper. my guess is it's not possible. the surfers take off behind the rock where its supper hollow and dumpy. a good day sees boards getting snapped like toothpicks and only the pros are really good enough to take off deep.

maybe little marley?

one place i'd love to see someone try is byron main beach. with a se swell and southerly wind it reminds me of flat top.

Yeah Byron Main beach could work, still be tough getting off the beach though nice long period swell. A pity the wind is not a bit more SE as Noosa on the low tide tomorrow arv could be epic. Trent sailed Neil St outer reef today interesting weekend/week ahead...

Seem to remember that Tobes and some others sailed Snapper pre superbank in ESE. Picked off the big wide ones.

Flat top this morning 35/40 knots, 4-10 ft. All most sailable ??, when I turned up, till the clean up sets came in solid 8-10ft ????, entire ocean turned to a washing machine.
Too much water moving, couldn't swim in, even if my life depended on !!, no sailing today.
iPhone pics from the beach do not do it justice, amazing to watch though.

Redbull storm conditions, only for the insane today.
Hopefully calms down for Sunday/Monday. It's killing me to waste solid wind !!, but the waves are ludicrous.

Lennox and Flat Rock were like this today. The big yellow shark buoys at both spots were getting smashed by waves breaking out much further than them! Byron wave buoy peaked over 11m today. Wind was cross off, SSW, 30 to 40+ most of the day. Nobody out(at least the few times I saw it). It really looked spectacular!

We tried for sawty today but was gusty 25-35 knots, heaps of water moving / strong current, with sizeable but messy waves. Prob the most difficult conditions I've sailed for a while, either under power or over and trying to make out the back on 6ft swells. A mate and I tried for an hr, but end up at the pub in frustration!!
hopefully tomorrow, see better wind (less gusty) and cleaned waves ??

Saturday only sailable place was a blast in the jetty on a 5.3, seriously over powered out wide, but need the power to clear the shore break/close outs !!

Psycho Saturday Moffatt's reef
Watched this spot for days before conditions calmed down enough to sail it.
Feeling sick with nerves which I'd never had before sailing Max psyched us up to give it a go.
Impact vests and Gaths on
we payed our dues with a few beatings getting through the beachy, made it to the reef scratching over mountain like swell which was breaking about 200 metres wider than normal.
The first wave caught I quickly realised I had a metre too much sail and probably could have done with 20L less board but there was no going in to change once out there. The waves where that fast it was hard to get down the face to bottom turn so just had to mid face turn and race down the line and hope you didn't catch a rail.
Was really just survival sailing out there no crazy turns or jumps with consequences to high but was still an amazing rush riding the biggest waves I've ever encountered.
The GoPro pics don't do it any justice

Sunday session swell dropped but still super windy Tim on way in from Moffatt's reef on a 4.0

Morning surfs up Noosa

Monday fun day

Conditions back to normal sailed Moffatt's headland with Tim and Martin.

Cheers OMA!!!

Yep Finno & Max definitely took out the Big Ballz award for getting out the back on Saturday and charging some bombs. Here's a couple more photos that Masa took late on the Sunday. Monday was epic hard to beat sailing with a few good mates on logo to mast high clean waves at your local
