What other boardsport do you do and how does it help your wavesailing?
With absent waves and wind lately I pulled out my old skateboard and started playing with it. Couple of weeks ago I tried the nearest skate park, and been 3 times since, I can now drop in the 'half pipe', do a full vertical frontside turn at the top of the opposite ramp and go down again. sooo much fun!!! My balance has improved a lot, i.e. if you loose your balance your board doesn't sink or loose speed, it has a 'banana skin' effect instantly and you end up on hard ground - helps you figure out what you do wrong pretty quickly
I haven't tried to drop in with regular stance yet (I'm goofy)... Feels like the being back in the kindergarden with all the gromets around but they don't seem to mind, some of them are impressive, they would kick many asses very quickly if they started wavesailing

And crashing on concrete does make you realise how forgiving wave can be..

Where are you skating? I ride some parks around perth to.. Was riding Vic Park today, thats a nice big carvy bowl, looks like fun on a skateboard. no scooter kids either...

Paddleboarding helps with keeping your wave sence up to scratch and your upper body strong. There has been some waves around so surfing is back on the cards too.

Yeeha swell on its way!!
Might have to try vic park sometime, I went to manning today, pretty good and twice the size of the leeming park where i 'usually' go. Would be interesting with a very turny longboard if there is a bowl with bigger radius
Wakeboarding would probably build power, Julien Taboulet is really good at it

SUPn -like PC Simpson said improves your wave timing, balance and core strength - if you can turn a 9-11 foot sup in waves off the bottom and hit the lip comfortably turning a wave board with 20knts of wind in the sail is a piece of pi$$
