im 93kg and have new board 99 ultrakode. Don't sail with bigger than 5.3. Mostly cross to cross off. Playing around with fins has been fun. Tried as thruster wth stock fins 19/12cm was good but I prefer quads. Tried 15cm Flexi rear k4 12cm mfc fronts. Good on a wave but a bit twitchy only used in float and ride.

Tried 17cm g10 rears off old board. Used to run 17/10 g10 in 99 quad that went great. Trying 17 rears and 12 fronts (12s from thruster set) and seems good nice and grippy need to play with footstrap locations a bit more. Can't use old 10cm fronts because of different fin box on new board
my question is what's the biggest quad fins people have run in 100L ish wave board?

I am similar weight and quite like K4 Leon 16 rears with 10cm Ezzy fronts. the rears are quite fast and "twin" feeling but you get that grip from the fronts.
I have not tried their new quad specific fin the Incinerator yet however. I likely will in the future.

16.5 and 10

If its not perfect and a bit more onshore wave sailing I like to go bigger rears and slightly smaller fronts than factory setup, bit of a twinny feeling but not so extreme

I am lighter than you guys and I have been on the K4 incinerators(fronts and rears) for quite some time and I feel happy and content. I definitely prefer the quad feeling, but this is personal. I must say that they stand 100% for what the brand claims. 79 l quad,14 cm rears 8 cm fronts. Maybe with the rears you have to go 0.5 cm bigger to compensate for the reduced area and base width. If it is dead onshore (just thinkin) I might consider 14 cm scorcher rears, but never go bigger than 8 cm fronts.

I've got a 103 quad and found the best light wind set up is 18 Leon super stiff rears with 9cm fronts, then when its windy I go to the original set of 16 rear and 11 fronts.

How much do you weigh?

I use a 23cm single with 105L + 63cm wide for my light weight. Worked perfectly with 5.4.

When I was playing around learning about quads, I tried 16s+11s on 82L. It works but it's a lot of drag where the boards top speed is affected when overpowered. And jump landings are harsh, so much grip!

The recommended 16.5+10 seems reasonable. You can play with spread too. You can get some security spreading them out but increase stiffness.

What are you looking to achieve anyway? Planing/lift, grip?

I'm 90 KG, surf in strong side shore rip, usually using a 5.7m sail with the bigger fins but as soon as I'm powered up, use the smaller fins if I can be bothered to change them.
Originally someone suggested moving them back to get more early planning but that seemed to stiffen the whole board up too much so moved them forward and that made early planning batter and loosened it up a lot.

4.8 up to 5.6 S1's.
The stock thruster set up is the way to go, I think 20 centre and 12 sides.
Being 10kg less perhaps try 18 centre.
Pretty sure this years board comes with a dedicated thruster option and 5 boxes.
Everyone I've talked to on ultra kodes and have experimented with quad and twinnys have found thruster best

settled on 17/10 quad fins they go great rear fins at the back of the box front fins at the front (although in general the front and rear boxes appear quite close together)

At 90kg in my 97l I use 16/8 in my 110 litre I use 16.5/9
Bigger than 10cm fronts seem to stiffen the boards up a bit too much for me.

Been using 16.5cm and 17.5 MUF x-waves in my 86L Ultra Kode, sometimes putting in random side bites to get more control in really over powered conditions.
In my 93L Pyro 17.5 x-waves and 8cm x-quads if side shore. Onshore feels better on twin I feel, faster, looser, easier to get going.

That 87L board get sailed a lot if I'm in the same part of the world where the board is meaning I'm 7 kg lighter than the 100 that is now :D

The board pictured is the same as my 122L freewave - a FSW rocker that gets up and boogies - but still turns due to fin placement and rails. It is PB /thruster, so I use 12.5 sides and 25 or 29 centre.
I'm really enjoying it, its a very similar rocker the "most turny freewaves" but I think it turns better. I use it with 7m Gator for blasting, down to 4.5 for wavesailing, and can use the same fin set for almost all of that too!
So yes its a big guys waveboard, but it does not have a pure wave rocker.

However the extra 10L in this one is a LOT so customer wanted quad option too. Will be interesting to try it

Good to know recently got a new wave board, I'm at the 100kg mark wondered what the best set up would be for thruster. Prefer sailing with 5.2 to 6.5 (light days)
