All the paperwork came through from the Augusta and Margaret River shire yesterday. Dates are locked in for the National Wave sailing competition for 2010 at Surfers Point - Margaret River, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th February.

its good that they finally made a decision, but why wouldnt they have tied it in with the classics to make it more worth the trip. think a few sailiors will be lost.

The situation is kind of like this.

Ideally, the original dates originally set for the week straight after the Lancelin classic and to be held at Spot X would have been ideal. For anyone travelling interstate the plan was to make it possible to have two competitions straight after each other to make perfect timing. Unfortunately, the pushback from almost everyone who has anything to do with the oakagee project and future deep water port meant that this was not possible.

So, the second option being MR meant conforming to the regulations of the area which prevents any competitions from being held during peak holiday periods including school hols in wa. So, first available weekend is the dates as now set. Sorry but given the dramas in Gero which were so beyond belief this is the outcome.

Hope people will make the most of what is on offer.

Yea, great work Terry. Australia has a few of the worlds best spots and it's great to see the nationals being held at one of them. Can't wait to see Scotty and the boys rippin at home.
