Great photos, the twelfth photo down has like three beams or lines coming out of the front of the board. What are they, strings of a kite?

I really envy being able to sail on that tack in the waves, we get nothing but wind from the other direction here in California, Maui also, and I've never been able to catch a Kona wind there.
