I am truly sorry for buying a 76 ltr freestyle wave board, I have cursed the wind I know I have, do you think its global warming? since I have started this awesome sport I have been frustrated at the lack of wind / consistency. I guess this is just the nature of this sport. I live on Port Phillip bay I sail with some older guys and they tell me of the good old days of wind for days, have things change that much so it seems. One thing, I would'nt be this bored if there was wind.

This years spring has been a really bad one for sea breezes! Usually at around this time (Nov) we should be getting out atleast 3-4 times per week with consistent 15-20 knots S-SW most afternoons which usually blow from about 3ish to about 7ish. A tell tale sign that we have had no decent winds is that the water temperature is very warm already, where normally with all the breezes it keeps it cooler for this time of year.

The wind has been so bad this spring it kind of feels like autumn. I cant even remember a spring like this one to be honest. We had a great windy winter this year, but soon as we hit spring the wind kind of died down and vanished. I remember some springs where it blew just about every day, non stop. And we had a ton of cold fronts and seabreezes with crystal clear skys.

I dont know about you guys but i blame the drought for a lack of wind.

I think we all need to find another hobby till the wind comes back.

some ideas mtbing, tennis, golf, rc choppers, girls ect..

Frustrating I know. You're going to have to invest in some bigger gear. I now have 3 boards and various rigs to boost my TOW in this unpredicatable Port Phillip weather. But I have to admit I've been having trouble finding regular days for even my formula stuff. Bit of wind forecast for tomorrow, so fingers crossed.

Looking sweet this morning. Going to wait until after lunch when it picks up to 20-30knots. I bet a ton of sailors take a sickie day from work. Hope you all get a sail in.

Yes today does look good and will be a great test to see if my windsurf pass is still valid after the arrival of my baby son. It should be ok to go out now he is a week old, right?

It was a great afternoon, sailed from 2 to 7pm. Totally buggered now. Late afternoon I even got slightly overpowered on my 5.3 when it was gusting above 30knots. Hope most of you got a sail in. It should quench my thirst for a few days.
