you do realise where it is...? Saying its near the Prom, is like saying Melbourne is close to Sydney.

Flew all along the far east Victorian coastline at low level in a relos light plane. There's a lot of nice looking sailing spots, particularly the area between the beach and Gabo Island - I recall the island is pretty low. Land access is the problem, it's remote.

Yeh windsurfing, gave up on sit down boats decades ago. Gabo Island is only a couple of hundred metres off the mainland, and the rocky shelf looked pretty low. Should be a nice mix of swell, waves and flat water. Check it out on google earth, I wonder why they can still sell light aircraft? Commercial airfares are so cheap and if you want a low level view, google earth is almost as good. All hypothetical, no access - there is an airstrip on it though??

Spent last week camping 40k's west of Gabo Island at a place called Wingan Inlet. Was hoping for a wavesail in Fly Cove pictured above as there were some brilliant cross-offshores blowing the previous year (but hadn't taken sailing gear). Didn't get any decent wind at all. Nice part of the world.
