I'm curious if anyone has sailed at lake modewarre just past geelong? I drove past the turnoff late last night and saw the boat ramp sign. I've never been there but from the map it seems large enough, and there's a bucketload of water around at the moment?

might be too murky and full of carp/eels/big slimy beasties?

Interesting..

Modewarre used to have sailors in the 80's. I've driven that road a few times and seen the boat ramp sign as well and a couple of months ago checked it out.... No water - nothing but a big paddock..

Had a look about 2 weeks ago and there's water in there now but only looked about 50% full . Dont know what it would be now.

One to put on the backburner...

Connewarre being tidal always has water and has some great sailing (as long as the weed doesn't get too bad like a few summers ago)..

I was tossing up a s/h GO, but the boss says it's ok to go new, just working out Funster/NP 6.0m bundle with SHQ.
Can't make it to the swapmeet though, so nobody tell me about the bargains you guys all snapped up.
