I heard alot of guys sail Port Fairy. It's just over the border near warnambool. I have never been there, but i have seen pics and it looks like a paradise, for windsurfers.

Hey, i was at mt gambier last christmas holidays and had me windsurfer with me. Where abouts do you sail there???

Pilchard, I'm in Portland, but not a wavesailor (unless you include my first few attempts over the last couple of weekends - no ability though).

Cape Bridgewater would be your closest (about an hour's drive, through Nelson, turn off toward Portland Airport & follow signs past Bridgewater Lakes & turn right on Bridgewater Rd...or use GPS?). Great on a S - SW, and I've been told NE?!? I've only sailed there a few times recently, but plan on doing more wavesailing this year. Apart from the few local spots, next would be Pt Fairy, over the back of the golf course.

Any windy day you'll find us locals out off Dutton Way (5 mins from Portland toward Warrnambool), where there's a mix of flatwater, chop & breaking reefs. Generally, the most on the water at any time is about 4-5 guys, although 7 on the water on Sunday, & was great to kick back afterwards with a coldie & exaggerated stories of how high we jumped, how good our gybes were & who had the best catapult!

Send me a PM if you're coming over.

Nelson also has beach access, but can't remember what the beach is like. Robe is sensational, and Beachport too - still keen to get to Lake George! Pt Mac...not sure, but good shark fishing!!

yes i sail the port mac region. when i lived in adelaide i would travel east to spots like robe and beachport and loved em so much i moved this way but now i want to explore east of here for the odd day trip or holiday with my young family and i dont dig sailing new spots solo. its 4hrs back to adelaide and nothing very mind blowing as far as wave riding goes but i was sure thered be spots to check 4hrs east and between. not saying i havent travelled east via the coast before but never with kit on the roof. seen heaps of potential but only armed with a "surfers travel guide" leaves me not knowing alot

hey gang

Nick here from Core Boardsports in Jan Juc..be sure to let me know if your heading out as far as Torquay or even Lorne. We will be stoked to see you crew down our way...there's a great vibe here.. new energy and growth in windsurfing from nippers to old geezers, lots of laughs! we will definitely look after you.

also keep me in the loop via Core web site so I can head West one weekend when conditions look good and hook up for a session and a few beers..we have a few supporters from down that way and dont need much of an excuse to pack the car for a good old road trip.

cheers
