Cheer up Kona lad - nobody likes to see a bloke down. A crate of Red Bull is on its way courtesy of HM Queen II on her birthday - full fat sugar version to ensure a maximum hit. She likes a drop herself in Buck House - mixed with 4 parts rum, 2 parts tequila and a pot of VB. Where do we have wind tomorrow - look into your Crystal Ball and enlighten us all?

I got a half decent 15-17 knots at about 4pm yesterday at Rye. Shame sunset is so early now. Was only gusting occassionally up to 15 before then, so I was alone most of the time with only one kiter there about 2pm.

Good luck all with today's wind.

Looking a lot more promising today, I can see a kiter out already at Rye.

Just got back from Pt Henry. Wind was around 15 knots while I sailed. As I packed up, a front came through and it was blowing 18 - 20 knots. How typical!!!

On a different note - I took a friend who had never sailed before and she was using my Go. Looks like there may be a new windsurfing convert lol.

I saw some pretty dark clouds down your way OB, saw 27kts at point wilson at one stage - thought you and red would be having a blast.

wasn't bad at the top end of the bay either, got to willy beach around 2pm - the wind was around 15kts with an awesome angle straight off the beach. I had a 6.6, the sherminator rigged a 9m because his 6.5 is shagged.
It got pretty interesting when one of the rain bands came thru, well over 20kts with heavy rain that bloody stung.

I actually had a friend down with me who had never sailed before. Had her out on my Go with a small sail so I couldnt stay out as long as I would have liked. I was packing up just as the front came through. I reckon it averaged around 20 knots with a few big gusts coming through.

Red is away for a few days so he didnt sail but he did loan me his 5.8M Koncept just in case. Unfortunately when I was sailing, I needed something a little bigger so had my 6.5 Severne NCX rigged. Had some nice runs though.

Yeah Kona, it was pretty good at Rye, would of been around 20 knots for most of the arvo once that shower came through as I got going easily on my 5.0

Was good to get 3 hours on the water!

See you next w/e looks like it may be another Northerly / Rye sesh.

Where do you launch from at Rye? I've seen a couple of guys in the small Bayside carpark about 300m north of the Yacht Club/Pier - or do you go off the back beach?

I decided to sail at Mornington since I was at Rye the previous day. As you know it can get annoying driving everywhere constantly.

It was actually quite good on my bigger gear until about 3:30pm when it picked up to 25knots but couldn't be bothered going home to get my other stuff. I sailed from 10am til 4:30pm. Buggered as all hell!

Normally I park, rig and launch from were you mention Croweman, just up from the pier. I'd be interested in another trip down there when the conditions are right!
