Hey Windwarning

Where is Lake Poowong? Nothing on Google maps. I know Poowong is on from Lang Lang. Where is the Lake and how big? Have you sailed it and what conditions the best?

I remember reading about it a while ago. Not 100% sure where it is but I think it's heated due to a power station outlet.

There are cooling ponds associated with the Yallourn Power station that I have windsurfed before at Hazelwood but that is a fair distance from Poowong

As a Pom, this could qualify as the first bath I've had since moving to Oz...any soap supplied.

I have only sailed there once so not an expert on the place. Yes water is like a tepid bath. When I sailed there it was the middle of winter with mist rising off the water. When you are in the water it is warm but as soon as you are up the wind freezes you instantly.
There is a sailing club at the bottom end which has a great lawn area for setting up. There are designated areas for sailing and skiing and race boats.
I found the wind to be flukey like Lysterfield despite the open land that surrounded the banks. As said - only sailed there once so do not take the wind conditions as gospel.
