For all the local sailors on the west coast , I've convinced Roger at 4 winds Marine Geelong to stock 3.8mm Formuline downfaul rope for us poleys. If you haven't used it before it makes downhauling a breeze and its the ducks guts. So next time you snap your worn old downhaul rope give him a call.

Thanks for that Red but after my last sales encounter with Roger, I would rather use barbed wire as a downhaul than ever set foot in that store again. I will stick with getting it online from one of the seabreeze sponsors

OceanBlue64 is correct.

Four Winds was once a good shop, run by some keen sailboarders. Then Roger took over the shop. Roger is ok. But I just always got annoyed how he does this funny thing. You go in and see him, and he seems to know you. Then you go back a week later, and its like he totally forgets who you are, then you go back a week later and he remembers you, then go back a week later and he totally has forgotten you again. He does this over and over and over.

He also should stop promising things will be here “By the weekend”, as they never are.

But to get rope and small things, he is the man to go see, just don’t expect him to remember who you are.

Shame now that its pretty much a boating shop anyway.

Quite true - its never going to be more than a boating shop that very, very occassionally sells windsurfing gear BUT for those last minute breakages id rather swing by the shop than have to wait for days for an online shop to deliver...

For sure. Very handy to go there to get rope, so thanks Red for getting Roger to get the rope into the shop.

Nice to see someone red thumbing me because I am not prepared to put up with people stuffing me around, promising things etc after I had already paid for said item.
