Its great to see our boys up there on the world stage.

On behalf of Inverloch Windsurfing Club I would like to congratulate Craig "Kato" Hollins(Club Legend) for smashing his own world record for distance by sailing 552 kms in 24hrs(actually Craig did it in 14 hours but the record is measured over 24hrs) That is like driving from Melbourne to Wagga Wagga plus another 100kms.
Craig did this at Lake George S.A. this month.

Now just to prove Victoria has got more than one world class sailor

On behalf of Inverloch Windsurfing Club I would like to congratulate Jacques Kint(member - we may have to upgrade you Jacques) for setting a new Australian 1 hr record of 29.08 just 0.58 of a knot off current world record holder Jacques van der Hout
Jacques did this at Lake George S.A. this month.

When you look at the GPS team challenge ladders there are a number of Vicco sailors in the top ten across all the GPS categories like Andrew Daff, Matthew Robertson, Tony Wynhoven, Craig Spottswood and a few others knocking on the door.

Damn we have a good breeding ground for world class sailors. Well done to all

.....well for a start we may all go faster than we have ever been like those who attended last year. Just that we may have to practice slowing down a bit quicker to improve upon that going by the pro's technique to pull up in the slow down area.

Event period 6 weeks...... For those wanting a ratified 500m WR, entry cost ranges from 1000-3000 euro for 1-4 weeks(entry to channel, kit shuttle, ER), 47knot+ 500m pre requisite for elite class only. The 2 weeks preceding are for others chasing national WR's and or gps WRSSC that don't meet the 47kt 500 elite qualification, cost 1000 euro/week. See event website for exact clarification.

Depending on gps only entry numbers , amount of interest may reduce cost, see Sailquik's thread on GPS forum.

Seeking just a fraction of the sponsorship or Gov assistance like they give to our footy or swimming heroes and the like that seem to disappoint would be really helpful in getting some Aussies there.

Spotty, would you give it a crack if we raised some funds?
