Hi folks,
Anyone ever windsurfed at Tidal River before or is going down to Sandy Pt the better option?
Keen to have a sesh at the Prom but forgot if the bays are protected from wind or not.
Let me know!
Aloha!

Cliffs at each end of beach make it very gusty in anything but onshore, sandy better option.

Its great Fred.....awesome stunt value attached to wave-sailing Squeaky and Norman Bay.

Went out at Tidal River with 30Kts and gusts over 35 full offshore ... it was gusty, with the cliffs protecting the bay ... and unfortunately low stunt value due to no swell, felt like speed sailing on a lake :-) Beautiful spot though and would like to test again with onshore winds and waves

7/10 stunt value. Excellent pic.
9/10 stunt value if you windsurfed to skull rock and back!

Thankfully you did not break anything, it would be hard/impossible to do a self rescue with 30knts OFFSHORE and no one else out to help..

You would have to abandon your gear and swim in.
Gear lost for good.

But... looks sweet!
I'm down there next week...
