look like he had awesome runs along abit of a sand bar at somers from where I was at balnarring beach, he was flying.. My chick saw him too, just wondered who the dude was that's all? I did not know there was like a sand bar out there.. I knew the middle bank one, but that's about it. I thought the dude was going to windsurf to middle bank for minute, he was sailing a fair way out. Any way I decided to leave balnarring beach to the kiters and head along the coast to have a look at shoreham, and what did I find??? a 1960s windsurf dude out windsurfing in a onshore east wind ,so awesome to see the old school stuff been sailed still.. He was out with one other kiter dude who pulling some fancy tricks in the air. Looking back down the coast from shoreham, there were a few kiters kiting off point leo kiting in the waves, there every where now those dudes. So after checking out Shoreham, I then got on my way and headed to rye, where my jorney ended. When I arrived there was like a few windsurfers out playing, having fun, wich was good to see. here is a few pics fellas the other pics were at inverloch satdy

oops sorry fellas, i made a few mistakes in my story, i wrote it late at night, think i was half asleephang tenits all good

nar the first pic is shoreham. the second one at rye would be good place for ya son to learn or even inverloch

somers is not really a place to learn as it is really sharky and abit rocky. balnarring up the road would be good in a se wind tho its more sandy than somers.

Knowing where you guys are located I'd say the Mornington Peninsula bayside beaches are a good place to sail to get access to good conditions and reasonable travels times. Mt Martha is pretty safe, and if you're looking for shallows then McCrae all the way to Balnarring is ideal. Seaford is another good option - these are all the places I leaned to sail (many years ago).

The only thing to be wary of when beginning is sailing in off shore wind conditions.
