Where's a few good spots to sail in a SE - E breeze on the east side of the bay? I know rickets but Ive been told that the reef isn't the best for a beginner......

Also has anyone made a bit of a map of good spots on the bay to sail in different directions? I feel there should be some sort of sticky post at the top of the Vic Forum to help new comers like my self into the sport with a bit of list of good places to sail / people sail from regularly. Im happy to put something together if people reel off some locations below....

It can be really good in the river mouth on a SE, launch from one of the car parks just inside the inlet and blast straight out into rolling waves which are great for jumping.

It also works in a westerly....see below from a couple of weeks ago.

^^ Yep this is great fun (tomorrow and Thurs hopefully will see us out there), but you mentioned you're a beginner so maybe don't sail here. The tide runs really quick past pensioners point so you need to know what you're doing. Still come down on an E-SE, but sail from the angling club or rotunda for some safe practice on the inlet.

Also, get down here on a S-SW. Some great longer runs on the inlet in flat water at low tide. Loads of sandbars for a rest and perfect for starting to learn your carve gybes whilst nailing water starts.
