Hi All,

It's a honking 35 knot SW now, shifting more S later and softening. I have little skill in surfing forecasts, but the swell looks flat, building to small with a short wave interval. High tide is around 7:30 am.

I'm based at McCrae today and I'm thinking of maybe going to Shoreham (would be better with more swell though) or Frankston (would be better if a fraction more westerly in the breeze).

Where are you headed and/or what would you suggest to those hitting the water today?

Shoreham will be to small today and you would need to be out now! I think some people might sail at Point Leo this morning but again the tide and swell isn't really playing ball. I will sail Safety Beach (BP) at about 8:30am with a few others.

Drove past safety beach but it seemed a bit too flat/slappy. At Frankston now and the ramps look good off the pier with a good wind angle, with room for wind to shift a little further toward south. Other, talented sailors would be back looping here. If they were here... It's empty at the. moment.

Bonno was pretty good today with the usual bonno crew.
Maybe tomorrow will be better closer to the city

Franga was good. 75l with 4.5 in the am and 96l with 5.3 in the pm (i'm approx 85-90 kg). Some ok ramps and almost no messy chop. Fast, and reasonable air time for a far bastard. Ended up launching off the yacht club and worked south of the pier before swimmers started up (then stayed clear for the sake of our collective reputation). Although the kananook creek was pretty crook, i should probably be more worried about choosing Sophia's for lunch. Handy having a takeaway so close though!

I checked out Elwood around 5:30pm and it is a smelly disgusting brew up there. There were one guy packing up and two guys out further down starting from the restaurant at around 20 knots, not sure how they are feeling tomorrow though. Went to Hampton, a little better but again only two guys further up unusually between the first and second breakwater and some kiters, not inviting at all. How can EPA declare the beaches 'fair'? What is happening to our bay???

I up for today at Elwood or Bonno, but not interested in getting sick form the water though. Maybe we need to add an update from EPA on here.

Anecdotal update:

Was in the water for kids club this morning. Have done a solid poo since and I haven't vomited...
