Port Philip Bay Saturday 8 September Winds Westerly 20 to 30 knots decreasing to 15 to 25 knots by early evening. Seas 1 to 2 metres. Sunday 9 September Winds Westerly 15 to 20 knots decreasing to 10 to 15 knots around dawn then tending northwesterly up to 10 knots around midday. Seas Up to 1 metre decreasing below 0.5 metres.
Central Coastal Waters Saturday 8 September Winds West to southwesterly 35 to 45 knots decreasing to 30 to 40 knots around dawn and to 20 to 30 knots at night. Seas Up to 5 metres decreasing to 3 metres around midday then increasing to 4 metres during the afternoon. Swell Westerly 4 to 6 metres decreasing to 3 to 4 metres late in the evening. Sunday 9 September Winds Southwesterly 20 to 30 knots tending westerly 15 to 20 knots around midday with afternoon inshore seabreezes. Seas Up to 2 to 3 metres, decreasing to 1 to 2 metres during the afternoon. Swell Southwesterly 2 to 3 metres in the east, increasing to 3 to 4 metres in the west.
Sounds insane. Might just head down to Sandy Point to see what a swell that big looks like, then chicken out in the protection of the inlet.
