It is just amazing how this concept is just falling into place. For those that have not seen the previous posts on the Vicco section please check out Aussie Assault on Luderitz.

This is all about sending three of our quickest Victorian sailors to put Australian Speed sailing on the world stage. Andrew Daff, Jacques Kint and Craig Spottiswood are heading to Namibia in October 2013 to compete against the world's elite speed sailors on a purpose built speed channel were speeds of over 52 kts have been achieved on a windsurfer.

Our first fund raising campaign got underway at Inverloch two Sundays ago were on a on a day of 5 - 10 kts of wind 30 people rocked up to support the teams dreams. The day was a Plug n Play day were Justin Lord from Windsurfing Religion came down from Sydney to show us a sweet range of Patrick Boards and Avanti Sails and Martin Love from KA Sails demonstrated a range of KA sails. Jacques is a sponsored rider for Patrick Boards and Daffy and Spotty are sponsored riders for KA Sails. The day was a great success with over $700 raised for the Team - absolutely amazing.

The Team is releasing a web page and Facebook this week and we will release further information on more demonstration days and speed clinics shortly. The next event is being planned for May 19th at Queenscliffe - Jacques' home territory.

This is uniquely a Victorian concept with the Team made up of speed sailors from all areas of our State. The success of this depends on all Victorian windsurfers getting behind these guys and giving them a huge helping hand to get to Luderitz.

Be supportive and be part of this, ride the Luderitz channel with these guys setting new Australian and perhaps even new World records.

This is going to be a huge event for all of Australia to watch over, whether your discipline is Waves, Bump and Jump, Freestyle or surfing the furums, we all share the same passion, thats being on the water blasting around.

Last year was an amazing year at Luderitz, and much of the world sat back and had to watch all our known speed records fall, and then get bettered day by day.
Only 50 riders from around the globe are able to compete over the 6 week period, and Craig, Andrew and myself have been lucky enough to be excepted to compete and we are ready to push ourselves past our limits.

I think we have a great team together with 1 sailor already holding world records speeds, another with endless amounts of technical knowlegde and talent, and another who just wants to go faster and faster.....

So get behind us, check out our site and put it in your favourites so you can watch our updates and progress on getting to Luderitz and showing the world what us Aussies are all about.

Along the way we are doing some Demo and Training days with sailing, talks, Vid's and Promo's, these days arn't totally based around speed so there is something for everyone, come down say G'Day and have a look.

This is our site to follow

Hope to see you before we all go
