Hey guys we will hold the 4th round of the Victorian Wave Series at Sandy pt this Sunday

Briefing will be held at 12pm on the grass in front of the shops in the middle of Sandy Pt

Entry to the event is FREE.
All competitors need to be a member of WV to enter. People can sign up to WV on Sunday if they have exact cash. Or other wise payment can be made online http://www.wv.org.au/index.php?option=com_pmform&view=form&Itemid=76

Classes:
Expert - Expression session style heat, top sailors will progress to Man on Man finals.

Intermediate - Expression session style, with top sailors progressing to one man on man final. Emphasis on fun and getting people out into the waves together

Also the Trophies for the series overall placings are coming along VERY nicely!
Should be finished and on display soon... Might tighten the points up a bit when people see them!

Thanks Joel and James for organising today! Don't think I have ever sailed so over powered as I did in the second round. It was certainly much easier with a smaller sail. See you at the next one.

Were you still on the 5.4?? It was so windy by that second final! I couldn't hold onto my 5.0 and had to re-rig to my 4.7... up in front of the inlet it was hard to hold onto a 4.2!

Sure was on the 5.4 in the second heat. I only noticed it was mega windy when I walked down to my stuff for the second heat. Sitting up in the Dunes with Andy and Ben all I was noticing was the sand flys.

Using the 5.4 goes some way to explaining why it probably looked like I was doing an upwind speed sailing event rather than trying to wave sail. Got the 4.7 and the smaller board after the heat and was so much easier/better.

Yeah you and Benny seemed to miss all the waves in that heat, while Andy and Alex just seemed to attract the waves!
was a shame the swell was so small

Guys this is what the Intermediate division is all about!!
This is Andy Donegan's second summer windsurfing after learning on a SUP last season.. He has been getting out there at each event and learning about the waves..
I think it's fair to say he is starting to get the hang of it pretty quickly!!
