Correct me if i am wrong, but looking at the BoMs new tide pages, the tide at Port Welshpool pier look to be very similar to what the tide times would be at the Inlet.

vs the heads

(Seriously... correct me if wrong - I'm wondering if Welshpool is a good proxy)

It looks pretty close , high tide today is about 1450 so you would add 30 mins to Welshpool's time. Nice find

We did some testing last weekend and reckon Stony Point plus an hour is pretty close to the mark

Port Phillip heads (or front surf beach) plus 1.5 hrs works perfectly most of the time at the car park/speed strip.

This can be upset by particularly high tide range cycles (a bit later) or big storm surges (some days I have seen the tide stay in all day!)

In general, tide levels (high and low) are higher on a low pressure SW storm and lower in a big high pressure event (Easterlies).
