Forecast is looking like its going to be super hot and windy on Wednesday, with a hot northerly hitting 31kts (windguru) in the morning and probably settling to 20-25 till late morning.

I for one will be up at around 5.30am to make most of it before work.

Looks like the only wind that we will get before xmas eve, and I doubt I will be able to get out of family duties then...

Very cheeky Dan. From what I recall your name was at the top of the downwinder thread, not mine;)

Hmmm.... So what do you make of the green arrows on Seabreeze or windguru? Have they got it wrong?

Andrew is right (sometimes) this BOM marine wind site is the most accurate wind forecast for Vic by far for the 1-2day forecast.

It's always really good for showing if the wind will get in to one spot but not another... it's all I use

Pretty much what the forecast was showing - lighter early and then picking up towards lunchtime. Backed off now as predicted too. From chatting with the forecasters (as i know Joel has done too) the model that is used to develop the first two days of this forecast product is their favoured one. That's not to say it is the perfect model, just that it tends to get it right more often than others.

All that said, i still had a bloody headwind riding to work, though noted only occasional whitecaps and no-one out at GP at 7:20am as i went past... (but did wonder why a Zu JEEP was driving in the carpark)

Well I'm getting wet either way today at Elwood. If it comes through great, if not some light wind practice....... its not sexy, its not planning, some say its not even proper windsurfing (James M - specifically).... but... I'll do it either way, the weather gods may take pity.

I usually sail Dendy in a northerly. No wind shadow...or Point Ormond if I can be asked to drive that bit further.
