<div>Hi Guys

I live in Prahran and some lowlife has bolt-cutted my steel re-enforced lockable tie-downs and stolen one of my boards.

Its a JP Australia, Freestyle Wave, 85 litre Pro Edition in silver JP board bag.

<div>Pls see attached photos which includes serial nos.

<div>If you see or hear anything that could help i'd appreciate a call, mobile 0412814810.

<div>Happy to pay a reward for the person responsible for the return of the board.

<div>Cheers & Thanks

Jono

Thats bad news...

And I was just about to buy some lockable tie-downs too... what brand were they?

Ultimately they really are only a deterrent, as are most bike locks etc. Anyone have a decent locking system worked out?

Unfortunately, even vans and trailers can be broken into

Shows the value of keeping records/photos of your purchase and serial numbers so you can show proof to the cops and secondhand resellers (cash converters etc.)

Best of luck JonoB, hope you get your stuff back!

Hi Windjunky

They were the SPT (Kanulock) lockable tiedowns with the stainless steel cables running through the strap.
I do recommend them - they are easy to tie your boards down and give peace of mind at the beach when you take 2 boards.
Unfort i regularly park in a "secure" place near the Prahan Mission where a lot of junkies congregate and is a hotspot for a lot of nearby crime. Someone has broken into the car park and come prepared with a pair of bolt cutters to get through the steel cables.

I will definitely buy another set of those tie downs even if its just for the ease of transport.

The only other brand i know of is:
www.thule.com/en-au

From the pics/video it looks like the steel cable runs down the centre of the strap where SPT has cables down both sides of the strap - it might be worth investigating which cable is thicker.

Cheers
Jono

You should post this on all the windsurfing forums mate as I would expect them to try and sell it interstate.
