I am tempted, but don't want to make myself look like a fool out there. My gybing is average at the best of times.

Who's going and what advice can you offer?

OK, here's the deal:

You only need to do one gybe per race and there's three races so don't panic on the gybe, just go as fast as you can and fall in tactically if you have to!

Only advice is turn up and be ready to have a laugh. We'll get you going off the beach in the appropriate group according to what gear you're riding. The idea is that we make Spotty and Jimbob go last so we can all get back to the beach and see who wins out of the two of them. OK, I'm joking - the aim is to have a close finish.

If the wind is no good we're having a SUP race, preferably sailing SUPs with the emphasis on a bit of competition. Elwood vs Dendy tag team SUP is one idea!

Then we head up to the balcony for the barbie and bar (incredibly good value bar...) spin some tunes, kick back and toast the arrival of summer. License is till midnight and it's one of the most desirable function places on the bay so I would encourage you all to make transport arrangements, book a babysitter, invite a few friends and come and enjoy the vibe.

Any more questions please ask away!!

Cheers,

Jon (Elwood Sailing Club - Elwood Sailboarders)

My strategy is just that. See if I can gybe out there, if I do, win, if not, try a water start and hike it back in.

Come on Jez - If I am doing it, you have too!

Now - how to convince the girlfriend to happily watch from the shore and have a picnic...........

Hey Jez,
as I mentioned in the earlier post, I have a tried and tested handicap system that works in favour of the intermediates and ensures the guns are working overtime You'll like it!

Retzy and I will have a couple of fun, back-up sup sail/paddle events if the wind isn't quite doing it's thing. And there's always the bbq and bar to retire to as soon as you've de-rigged!

The last Stern Chaser was a great event with plenty of fun for all levels. I'll be there for sure.
