The next big event is the Stern Chaser hosted by Elwood Sailing Club, The ZU Boardsports and Windsurfing Victoria on the 16th Feb 2013.
This event also includes a round of the WV Course Racing Series as pre-race event if you would like to join in.

How does a Stern Chaser work?
We send the wave and freestyle sailors out towards a gybe mark where one of the safety boats is located. We then send the freeride and then the slalom sailors out. This allows for all sailors to be able to come back to the finish line at beach at the same time. Each race is only one lap and we try and have as many races as possible. An event you can not miss.
Please note; If there is light winds we will have WindSUP races, with some spare SUPs supplied by The ZU.

What is a Course Race?
We start from a start line on the water and race around a triangle course with a direct upwind leg and two broad reach runs.

Where?
Elwood beach in front of the Elwood Sailing Club.

My race fee can be paid by purchasing beer? Sounds too good to be true.

The Sternchaser for this Saturday has been pushed back due to the lack of wind to the next date on the calendar (16 march). The WV course racing will still go ahead with rego at 12pm, so come down for some lightwind fun !

As advised due to the wind forecast for tomorrow, the Stern Chaser has been called off, with focus now set on the 16th March Stern Chaser. BUT
The WV Course Racing event will still go ahead as planned tomorrow. So if your up for windsurf race come along and have some fun. We would suggest packing in you WindSUP board and a suitable sail (e.g. 6.5m). OR any windsurfer that can be sailed up wind. Plus your slip slop slap. See you there

The lack off wind halted the course racing too.
The next event is the WV Classic (Autumn Edition) at Parkdale Yacht Club on the 3rd March. Some changes to the format will be released soon.
