Our mate, Steve Bayside, is packing his bags after a few years in Vic and heading back to Pommyland. We'll miss ya Steve and the never ending question about what you would break next. (You gotta get some new gear when back home.) It's been awesome and lots of laughs sailing with you down at Hampton. All the best with the 6mm wetties in England. Hopefully catch up with you in Spain next year.
Well after 5.5 years and several postponed leavings and saying goodbye to some people ten times and some I missed we're flying back tomorrow avo to live back in Europe for a while (taking 2 new Australian proto-windsurfers back with us).
I'm not sure where that'll be yet, there's a chance of Amsterdam, but first its Manchester then a tour of U.K. South coast, via Bali, Singapore and middle east.
I can't imagine anywhere else matching up to Melbourne for being able to live close to warm windy water (and still have an English speaking ostensibly 'professional' job) and large(?) and friendly group of sailors. I'd start listing names but there's too many and then I'd forget some and also so many unnamed faces. Consider yourselves lucky.
I've only got my spars left so looking forward to getting new boards and sails and a drysuit. I'm not sure what conditions it will be for yet, but I pray its not inland lakes.
