Grandkids are awaay in Surfers for a week.
I will be in Vic and will surely be able to catch several 10 minute squalls.
Followed by hopeful and unproductive waiting around, no doubt....

you both should be at speedfortnight for the second week of the holidays. 2 weeks of sailing and Bulls@#t. Great place to learn and practice in flat water or play out in the surf on the front beach

Got the school hols plus 2 weeks extra leave. I am driving up to QLD with all my windsurfing and surfing gear whilst the family flies up. Hope to spend time on Broadwater then around Noosa. Family goes home after 2 weeks then I have another 2 weeks to cruise down the coast at my leisure, (with adult son). All the time planning to surf, if no wind and windsurf if there is wind. Oh, and drink beer. Leaving in 2 days and back October 23.
(Also a teacher)

Bill,
that was me exactly 2 years ago.
It was awesome.
Did lots of family things for 2 weeks.
then....
Once the family had flown back I sailed at Mooloolaba, Caloundra, and Lake Catharaba, and surfed at Noosa, Maroochy. Every day was jam packed, then you go to sleep to recover, then do it all again.

I maximised my time on the Sunshine Coast, then drove back down the middle.

These holi's, I'm off to the States for 3 weeks with family.
San Fran, LA, Vegas, Grand Canyon, NY. (don't expect to do any ws or surfing, but it should be an awesome holiday)

(don't forget to check out Catharaba when you're up North)
Have a good one.

I'd love to goto the PIT for the school holidays and being a teacher I should be able too. Oh but no! Tasmanias holidays finished last week, Bugga! In 2013 we goto 4 terms, so I'll hold my breath till then.

Impressive Dan...very jealous after viewing pics. However, you are disqualified for the temporal dislocation. Pete = champ

Dunno about that Mat,
I may need a photo windsurfing under the Golden Gate Bridge to edge out Dan.

Not back for another week and a bit.

Flew into la from ny just now and heard that a helicopter crashed into ny's east river. Sounded pretty bad on CNN. We did the heli flight from las Vegas into the grand canyon, landed, and flew back out, less than a week earlier. Awesome experience, but today's events made me realize it's probably worth checking whether it's a single or twin engine heli when you sign up to do this kind of thing. (the one in ny was a single)

Hope all of you are getting some good sailing!

Bondi you should be stopping over in Hawaii on the way back. We did that in June, Hawaii on the way over and on the way back from Vegas.

Maui was great when it was just the two of us, but this ones more for the kids.

Ie... Tomorrow we are off to the 'happiest kingdom of them all'
