Hi there,
Over here from the UK for work for a while. Not sailed for a couple of years but looking to get out again.

Based in Mount Eliza and wondering where I would be likely to bump into some other sailors on Saturday. Windguru says there will be a 12-15 knot Northerly blowing. Is this to be trusted?

Thanks in advance for any advise.

Bom forecast has it at 15-25 knots increasing to 25-30 knots during the morning. www.bom.gov.au/vic/forecasts/portphillip.shtml

The chances are it will be windier up towards the city than on the Mornington Peninsula. If you want to stay close suggest checking out Mount Martha and Rye. You can check out Rye conditions at: www.triggerbrothers.com.au/w/index.php?option=com_webcam&Itemid=183

If it is 25-30 knots on the Peninsula I will sail at either Rye or Mount Martha!

Just back from a drive down the Peninsula. Saw a load of Kiters at Rye and one sailor out at Mount Martha. He was gone by the time I got back up there.
Wind was cross on at Mt Martha and dead on lower down so I guess people where elsewhere.

Never mind. Hopefully there will be another windy weekend day soon.

Quite a few folks out today at Green Point, which is at the end of South Rd in Brighton. Thats fairly typical for a due N wind. On a NW Ricketts Point (southside) is the go. But they are a fair way from Mt Eliza...
For northerlies bump and jump at the southern end of the bay, Rye is certainly good, from now on get there real early or the oceanbreeze kills it off by mid morning. I usually think its ok down there while the bay temp is colder than the ocean temp... www.baywx.com.au/temps.html

About a dozen folks out at Rye from about 8am until about 1pm.... after that many hours sailing they (and me) had enough. Sailed powered-up on 5.3m early on, then pretty solid on 4.7m.
