The ranger at Pt.Leo found a 4.5m sail either on Sunday or Monday.

I don't remember seeing anyone on the Sunday with this particular sail - contact the ranger or Trigger Bros Pt.Leo on 5989 8402 with the brand and color if you lost it.

Unreal - my mate broke his boom on sunday, ditched the sail which he thought had sunk (which i have loaned him) and the ranger finds it! THANKS SO MUCH for posting on Seabreeze. I thought she was lost for sure. Quick call to Triggers confirmed it is my sail. Looks like my mate owes the ranger a few drinks.

A quick thank you to all those who offered to help.

Lessons learned;
a. Stop sailing with a aloy boom that has passed its sell by date!
b. Always sail with an uphaul.........its the only tow-line you have!
c. Don't take your eye off your board while de-rigging in 25kts of wind and 1k out..............they drift off pretty damn fast!!!!!!!

Cheers Roso

In short I jibed off a wave, cranked it down and headed back out, hurdling off a few sets coming in. Next thing I know the boom had cleanly snapped off at the mast (where it joins the plasctic) and swung back and smacked me in the bollocks!

I tried to sail off on the other tack (back too shore), but there was no stability in the rig...........thus my over ambitious call to de-rig and paddle in.

The rest is history - Thought I had tied my board to my harness while rolling up the sail..........but it came undone. Turned around with neatly rolled up sail to see board 150m downwind with Mast still neatly tucked between the two front straps.

Shat myself - ditched sail and broke into a swearing rampage that caught the attention of Roso who caught the board and waited for me to catch up.

Cheers the hitch to shore Roso..........Agree, an uphaul would have made it alot easier to tow me!

Pretty amazing you got it back, I assumed the Ranger found the sail in the carpark.
