Should be a great long weekend at Sandy Point with heaps going on!
We should definitely get wind and waves over the event.

Was nice at SP today! Not sure the weekend will be up to much other than onshore stuff or inlet sailing. Might bring the board down that came off the roof today to fix! Thanks Sam you are all class used my board then didn't tie it onto the roof! you did get the drinks in on the way back so all is forgiven.... Looks like the epoxy and carbon will be out tomorrow....

Is SW no good for sailing in the Sandy Point bay? I thought this would be a good direction?

The entry fee is for competing entrants and for Saturday dinner.

Competing windsurfing entrants will need to be a current AWA registered member (e.g. Windsurfing Victoria for Vic windsurfers). This is for windsurfer event insurance purposes. Membership can be obtained at the event.
Same aplies for SUP Vic for SUP entrants.

Not for wavesailing.
If it's a strong SW you can get some fun jumping down further at Warratah but yeah not the best direction!! Pray for easterlies!

Not only is south easterlies the best direction for wave sailing at Sandy Pt, but the SE just always crank there, often 15knots windier that places like Inverloch and often 100% windier than the melb! We have had days where we are sailing on 4.2s and 4.7s at sandy pt and the bay doesn't get above 10knots!

BoM was spot on... even picked the Southerly in the morning, dying off, then picking up from SW in the arvo.

Come on Joel - credit where credit is due, especially after your final 5 words there!!

Forecast looks great for the wave event TODAY! Strong cross shore at the gap. Competition will start at 10am. Hope to see you all there.

So far James Toth took out battle of the paddle sup followed by Simon Hansen and Spotty, then first and second were reversed in the sup wave event.

Slalom went to Daffy, then Spotty, Luke would have won if he made the first race coming 2nd and 1st in race 2 and 3.

Speed was taken out by Byron with Spotty close behind.

Sup relays and RS-one racing and relays were heaps of fun and very competitive. Stay tuned for a more complete recap on SHQ Melbourne Cup once we have results from today's wave comp.

Thanks everyone who has taken part in a great event so far! Now for some wave fun! Get down to Waratah Bay for some great random prizes including another sail give away! Excellent conditions for first timers and experts!

The weekend was a huge success that I really enjoyed! Suping, slamon, speed, Rs-1 racing and waves, plus a gybe clinic with Luke. Big thanks to SHQ and staff and WV.
