Captured a little bit of video from Ricketts & Elwood yesterday (Saturday 8th). Thought I'd share it with those interested. Sticky tripod was causing some issues so I apologise for that. My first real attempt at editing. No sountrack. Hope no one falls asleep watching!

Looks good. I havent sailed at either spot so its good to see what they are like. Looks like there are a fair few people that sail there though.

thats fantastic!!

A few of my mates were in that vid!!

Al was in it with the purple and orange zone, doing vulcans!

And i was in it doing a pretty average chop hop, with a green and purple combat!!

Nice work ejmack!

Thanks guys! Really wasn't sure if it was half decent or crap, so thanks for the feedback!

Adding a soundtrack and some more editing I think it could be improved a bit. I'm looking at Sony Vegas studio as the current editing program I'm using is pretty basic and limited. And a new tripod..... I actually ditched it half way through and went "hand held".

I was surprised to see three Ezzy sails (being an Ezzy user myself) out at Elwood and no one else. Had to catch it on DV. Wind seemed a bit stronger there also.

Quite a few people out at Ricketts that day. I have never seen that many there before but I'm not a regular bay sailor. I think my wife counted 17-18 at one time. 2 kiters maybe? Looked quite good.

yeah cool video. it was a good day but wouldve been better if the wind was more consistent... a bit of embarrassing footage - me messing up a tack

Good to see some video action - keep em coming!

Shame you weren't filming at Ricketts from 7:30-9:30 though (Only time Evan H, Rich and I could get out )

Come on Steve and Al, where are those forward attempts?

FletchHuz - definitely will. If I'm not on the water I have the DV camera "in hand" (when I remember to bring it)
sflack - Yeah, using Cyberlink also. Just don't like it much, but it's a "lite" version that came with the camera. Cheers for the tips!

Cheers Martin...... I actually had a feeling that was you when I was editing the video. Noticed the wood on the deck and the Ka sail.

Bayblaster - thanks! I'm not too familiar with the place myself. When you enter the main entrance drive around to your left as far as you can. Dirt carpark.

Bayblaster, That is Ricketts Point, some guy's call Ricketts South. Turn into the car park South of the Teahouse and drive around the dirt road as far as you can to the Life Saving Club.
Yes there are lots of Rocks , but fine if you know where they are. Ask a local before venturing in or you risk loosing a fin, avoid really low tide.
In my humble opinion it,s the best place on the bay in a Westerly. Works NW,West and South East/East. It's too onshore for a Sth or Sth West seabreeze, sail at Beaumaris Yacht Club the north side of the Teahouse then.

Sorry to bump this one on top again...... did a little more editing of the original footage, cut a bit out, added a bit, shortened the whole thing etc. which I think has resulted in a better vid. overall. Still no music/sound however... too lazy at the moment. I'll keep that for the next video.

So basically, not a great deal of difference, just shortened and edited a little better.

Tried to edit the original post with the updated link but was denied...."computer said no"!
