Do you remember the days when giving somebody a red thumb was done so to let someone know that their post has perhaps "crossed a line" or has just been plain rude? I understand that it was put in place to automatically report a post to admin if it receives enough negetive feedback but more recently I feel the system is more about your personal reaction to 1) whether you agree/ disagree with the post, 2 whether you dislike or like the person who has posted, or 3) Whether you feel the post needs to be reported. What makes the system even more annoying is that the voting system is done so annonymously and without explaining why a Red Thumb has been given towards a post. Is there a way that the people that "Thumb" can be at least a made a little accountable rather than hiding behind their keyboard?

Thumbs are meNt for your (1), which is highly correlated to (2) as to often be indistinguishable. Thumbs are not for (3) - there's a separate flag button for that. So, do I get green thumbs now?

Maybe it's like the difference btw red & green flags, you only notice it when the wind blows west.
