Hey guys down that way (Sailahack), what do you think the conditions will be like at the east end of the bay tomorrow (Sat 30th) for a wave sail?

Somewhere else better?

Planing a road trip for the day.

Cheers
Gav.

Gav, the pt fairy lach should be ok. Personally, I'll be hitting the local spot for some cross-shore chop-hopping fun and hopefully some wave action also... About another 40mins West of pt fairy.

Send me a pm and I'll give you the details.

Edit - sorry Gav, read that wrong - the East beach at pt fairy should be very good for a wavesail!

So how was it?

I camped at port fairy about 20 odd years ago before I was confidant in waves and remember sailing on some flat water on the inside of a reef somewhere that a mate new about, be nice to get down there again sometime.

Was ok today - took sup, caught a few beach breaks & spent the arvo at 'The Star of the West' Hotel...thankfully the wives took the offer to travel the 40mins to bring the kids, have dinner & drive a couple of happy husbands home.

Could have been epic..... but for the wind.
Freekin Huge waves.

It was too offshore NW and when some squalls came through they did not change the direction to W for long.
The day was not a total loss as we went for a SUP further down the beach towards the Surf Club.

Was also a bit of a scouting mission for camping trip that way later in the year.

Some pics.
