Hi all,

I'm planning to extend a business trip in Melbourne mid-December for windsurfing. I'm looking to do front side wave sailing.

How many such day can I expect to have in a week? Would Torquay be the right place to settle down?

And about rental, I searched the net and the only place I found to rent gear was South East of Melbourne, not very convenient if I stay in Torquay...

Thanks for your advice...

fd,
Not sure about the local spots/conditions, and if Torquay would be the best spot (about 1.5hrs drive from Melb).

For gear, drop into Stonker (Torquay), I'm not sure if they do rentals, but they might be able to hook you up with some gear???

if there is an easterly wind blowing then sandy point will be the best option and the wind is often a fair bit stronger down there than at torquay.
torquay can get very good but i would say that sandy point is more consistent.

Thanks guys for your answer.

Sandy point's waves looks fantastic on Google Maps!

What wave size can you expect there during summer time?

And lastly, is the East wind common at this spot?

Francis
