I'm going to head down to flinders one day this week.
I've not sailed down there before (only been in Melbourne for four months). If anyone wants a lift (and can get themselves to brighton (or lives between Brighton and flinders)) then let me know.
Anyone else with local knowledge to offer would be much appreciated.. One of the reasons for buddying up is so that I'm not sailing alone there - plus being sociable.
Where do most people launch/ sail? Any local hazards etc?
at flinders there's a sandbar out off the beach where the waves stand up nicely. i've fished near it in the boat, but never sailed it. Could be a bit dicey sailing out there alone, but would be awesome fun with a bunch of folk
I have never sailed at Flinders but have sailed Point Leo, The Pines etc. Thursday is looking OK and I am thinking of sailing Pines or Point Leo depending on direction. Flacka, Ali, Sam, Tony etc are you up for it or will you all be recovering?
Think I will sail the Bay or the Pines if the wind changes direction. Can not be bothered to drive all that way. Let's keep hoping for Thursday... Have a good one in Torquay, waves look good today.
