As a relative newbie to Melbourne (only been here 2 1/2 years), is this little wind usual in Melbourne at this time of year?

I know everything varies, but my first season here was epic, my second not so good, and this is driving me crazy. Four sails in a month, and nothing really on the horizon for the coming week.

Trying to be patient. Beginning to fail.

she is bad for this time of year. but i have heard even WA has not been the best as well. but the winds up now there is a nice SWester blowing so i am off. also dude where did ya sail yesterday?? cause i went to hazelwood pond and had a blast. i pulled off the biggest jump i think i have ever done at the pond yesterday. so i am stoked as the pond gets chop the size of the bay so its alot of fun to sail. did ya get much wind in the city?? you might want to check out hazelwood or the pit next time maybe

I know how you feel mate! Last year was definately better than this year, and yes 2 seasons ago I remember sailing like the first 4 days in a row of DLS and then minimum 3 times per week right up to christmas...

This years winter was epic...I sailed like nearly every weekend for 3 months straight and was so looking forward to a good spring with warmer temps....EXTREMELY frustrating when you set yourself goals to learn a new move by the end of the year but don't get a bloody chance to practice!

It has definitely been crappy so far this spring season... but winter was very good...

Last year the trick was to get out on the water by 5pm, compared to the year before which provided quite a lot of late-evening sailing.

This year the trick is to wait until we get 15+ knots......waiting.......waiting....

All the green arrows showing up for next weekend look promising. Fingers very tightly crossed.

I have a solution for you.... go to Maui

I spent 26 days in Maui over Oct/Nov and sailed 22 days, 21 days in a row!

Waves were head to mast hight when I sailed on those 22 days and the water is warmer than Tasi.... and the women.... you will have to go there to find out...
