Just been looking at some videos and the forecast of Marrawah... can someone provide some advice about what wind conditions work there? Could be tempted - might make an interesting change from Sandy Point.

pretty much anything except north west - onshore everywhere and dead east - offshore everywhere, is good.
friday afternoon is looking very promising for an epic light wind + solid waves session at bluff but is suspect the north easterly forecast for sunday will turn out as an easterly. you can still muck around at greens doing freestyle off the waves though in that direction.

Al, in my experince westerlies are pretty onshore also. My favorite spot is Back of Lighthouse with a big swell and SW. Swell needs to be over 4 m for this to work well then it's 3/4 to mast high but even an old fart like me can handle it because it's a reef break.
Bluff is good with S-SW
Furries on a southerly
Greens SW and NE

yeah westerlys are onshore as well but can be really good for jumping at greens. cross on - rather than dead onshore like a north west.

Back of Lighthouse is sailable in a westerly. Don't you remember the first time you sailed there, Anthony?

All i remeber is getting drilled just about every time I've been out there, so no i can't rememeber whether once it was a westerly, but you're both right, if the swell is there and just about any wind except NW and easterly it's the best. Simon hansen and I went out at Furries on a strong easterly, straight off shore, bloody bad idea.
