hide your keys !? Why would you ?
Have your never heard putting your key on of a piece of string around your neck ?
Some people have immobilisers in their keys (eg Holden, Ford) and if you get it wet, you will be unable to get home.
I got a Surf Lock from SHQ, its awesome! Definately invest in one!
Try getting a key cut without the immobiliser - the immobiliser bit is there for starting the car, not for opening the door. A "raw" key can be carried round your neck and will open the door, and you can leave your immobiliser key hidden inside somewhere.
PS. Test it out *prior* to locking your immobiliser key in the car of course!
PPS. for any bastard reading this intending to break into my car and steal it; the key is on the seat. Next to the doberman.
