No he stepped on one at the shore line. A spine pierced his sole through his bootie. He was complaining of numbness around the wound.

I'm not an expert, but according to the wikipedia, some of them do have traces of poison in other parts of their bodies - including skin, spines and flesh. The Japanese like to eat the flesh for the numbing effect on their mouth and tongue :-)

He took himself to triage -> since it hadn't blown up by the time he got there, it was all ok.

Had a pretty awesome session at St Kilda -> dead cross-shore on a 4.7 - 5.3m, sailing out to the channel markers.
