Where's the best place to get wind predictions for Inverloch and Sandy Point?
There are three places I know of:
1. Seabreeze - in the last two days the predictions for this weekend have changed radically three times.
2. BoM - predictions for this weekend have so far been consistent, but are they accurate?
3. Windguru - the predictions seem to be much lower than the others, and lower than what eventuates. For example, max of 12 kts predicted this Sunday whereas Seabreeze predicts 25kts (and yesterday it said 40kts), and BoM about 25kts.

On windguru, use Matt Robertson's adjustment - it gives a much better approximation of true wind speed for Sandy Point. Look at the drop down box on the top right of the chart - it's in there.

Ozbiker,
I take an average from the BOM's Westernport and Bass Strait predictions.
It's reasonably accurate altho' in the last few weeks it has been wildly off the mark.

The other way to go is to just say bugger it and sail in whatever is thrown at you on the day!!!

see you down there

I open the page, click "Choose Wind Modification" and the drop-down box shows "[NO MODIFICATION] with no other options.

Am I doing the right thing? Do I need Windguru-pro for this, rather than just the free version?
