Hey guys, I'm new to this site (obviously). My mate who I sailed with back in Tas recommended it.

Anyway, I've joined the Navy, and really don't have the money or the space to buy a Cat at the moment (use crew on F18 Capricorn/Nacra 5.8 at Laurderdale).

My questions are (if you could answer them, which would be great! );

Where are some good spots around Cribb Point area?

How much for a decent rig? (I'm definitely planning on taking it up)

And is there anyone selling or know of anyone selling complete rig?

Your responses will be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Within a 25k radius of Cribb Point you have access to a huge amount of great locations both within Western Port and Port Phillip Bay; anything from surf beaches, choppy conditions or flat water.

Regarding gear, I would check the the Buy & Sell section of this website and/or RPS and SHQ stores always have some secondhand gear (although likely to be costlier). Might want to do some serious research on gear or you will end up being sold stuff that is either rubbish or appropriate for advanced windsurfers. With that in mind the stores may be more expensive but they are more likely to sell you the most appropriate gear.

Cost (very rough estimate): second hand $1000-1800 new $2500+ You could get extremely ancient gear for next to nothing but it would either be ready to fall apart or be horrible to learn on and sail.

Hope this helps.
