For those that are not aware of Guy, he is considered to be one of the gurus
when it comes to windsurf coaching and performance improvement. A number of our
club members have recently returned from his clinics overseas and have raved
about these sessions. Please check out his webpage @ www.guycribb.com/

Well done Doug and IWC in luring Guy to Victoria! This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from arguably the worlds #1 windsurfing coach. Guy's video Intuition really inspired me as a windsurfing instructor, as it's such a simple straightforward way of teaching the basic and more advanced core skills of windsurfing. Guy identified 7 core skills, each with a 1 word description, such as ''downforce'' that is easy so easy to understand. In my opnion Intuition is like a blueprint on how to windsurf correctly and no matter whether you're an early intermediate or expert, Intuition will improve your windsurfing. Make sure you in and grab a copy of the Intuition DVD from us before the course.

Dear Mr. Drift

The Club has summoned the "Wind Guru" himself to answer that one however he was able to run a Speed competition in 2 kts gusting to 5 kts and attract a large field of combatants including the doyens of our sport.

BTW - Is this a troll or the real Mr. Drift? I would expect the real Mr. Drift to be addressing us as BMC - Brass Monkey Champion

Regards

Mr. Old Salty

Roy,
I don't know if anyone told you but Guy likes all participants to be in fancy dress each day. He allocates a theme for everyone and you have been given "Small Australian Marsupials"...He awards extra points for face paint...
All the other participants have been given their themes and are so keen to dress up.... I just thought I should tell you, so you don't turn up without a costume and look like a bit of a tool....

Hopefully we get a nice easterly for the clinic. These SW'lys are killing my bank account - I've been practicing Starboard tack jumps in the surf off Invy and within the last week i'm 1 sail, 1 mast & 1 boom down. I'm not going to have any equipment left by the time he gets here!!! Should have stayed in close rather than going out to the outer break. At least with an Easterly it'll be port tack jumps which is comfy.

BTW - anyone have a spare bottom section of a KA 400SDM mast. Or alternatively does anyone know of a good (and economical considering other gear needing replacing as well) 400RDM compatible with KA sails.

If you're clumsy, and it sounds like you are, Severne Gorilla is 2 years idiot proof warrantied... I was comforted by this when I lent my rig to brutal James last night.

haha, no not particularly. Just grew up on the bay, so port tack jumps is what comes naturally. Now living down here at Invy i'll sail in the surf on Easterly's (port) and if its SW in the past i've gone to the pit or sailed in the inlet. Only just getting in the surf on starboard tack jumps - its not natural... yet.

Can sail, gybe, tack and jump (on port) all day comfortably. First mast i've ever done (10yrs sailing ish).

Thanks for the recommendation on the mast though, will suss them out.

Hey Dan, I think Severne mast are more in the stiffer tip range so may not be the best for KA sails.
