Typical northerly. Up and down but on the plane for70 percent of the time. Two guys getting out at 4.30 when I arrived. 2 more arrived after me. A fun session seeing I was not expecting anything this arvo. Got too hot so time to leave the winter wettie at home. Scenery on the beach is picking up too. Life is good.

I am yet to sail the point. Parkings too expensive and I never have enough gold coins

Just park across the other side of Beach Road in the carpark of the gym. Some other guys do and then walk there gear over to the grassy patch next to the memorial.

Just ask one of ya mates if ya can borrow his local parking permit. Or while he is not looking stick it on your car he,he Me and my bro park our cars over the road some times. It's a pain in the arse The parking officers there watch you while you rig up, and then make out there leaving, but they dont they come straight back, as soon as every one is out on the water. I have caught them doing it, and at ricketts point as well.. They then fine all the windsurfers who dont have tickets. They are real sneaky at ricketts point, even worse than green point.

The thing is too, to buy a permit its like over hudred dollars and only last for about 3 months stuff that..

Green point is good for windsurfing in summer, so i still like to go there cause down the peninsula the wind blows out real early.

Rubbish. The passes are valid from 1 Oct of one year to 30 Septemeber of the next year. The Council will also discount the cost if the pass is bought late in the year, say June.

"They are real sneaky at ricketts point, even worse than green point."

Same Council, but it seems the parking officers have some latitude in how many visits they can make to a site. Was at Green Point during 11th and they made 3 visits in the 3 hours I was there. This was unusual, as I was expecting only 2 visits given the conditions that attracts tourists.

"The parking officers there watch you while you rig up, and then make out there leaving, but they dont they come straight back, as soon as every one is out on the water".

Have been sailing since the early nineties and have never seen parking officers (Kingston or Bayside) stay and watch the rigging process. After a visit, they may leave then come back an hour later, as per above.

Personally, I've found parking officers to be very reasonable and helpful when I've had a query with a parking question, so long as you treat them with respect. They have a job to do and it can be unpleasant.

I certainly don't like parking fees, thinking that we constant users don't get enough value for them in terms of better facilities, but there is little that I can do to alieviate them. Kingston and Bayside councils are no different to other councils in terms of parking limits and fees. I try to show my displeasure at election time (would it help if we had a sticker for the back of our cars "I'm a windsurfer and I vote").

In summary, Flipper, you knows the rules, you takes your chances.

If you have a permit make sure you update when you get the new season's one. (Due on now) I was fined displaying a permit 2 months out of date as I forgot to put the new one on.
